Shanequa moore, CEO & Founder
Shanequa E. Moore is the founder and CEO at the I’RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation where she has devoted 100 percent of her career to serving vulnerable and disadvantaged children, youth and families for the past 16 years. She has extensive experience in clinical and policy practice in multiple settings including clinics, schools, law firm and government.
Ms. Moore obtained her bachelor’s degree at Nyack College in Psychology where she graduated magna cum lade and her master’s degree from Columbia University School of Social Work in 2010. Ms. Moore was mentored by pioneering women of excellence in the field of Social Work including, Mary Pender Greene during her internship at the Jewish Board of Family and Children Services where she helped to expand the undoing organizational racism initiative, Dianne Heggie during her internship at COFFCA, Jenny Crawford during her internship at Bronx Defenders and Jane Waldfogel her academic adviser at Columbia University.
Ms. Moore recent activities include developing a comprehensive mental health program model for children in New York City Public schools where over 1,000 students are provided with mental health and supportive services, as well as the launching of a Montessori Pre-K program with the New York City Department of Education in Staten Island.
Ms. Moore also serves as State Representative with New York State Office of Children & Family Services where she oversees the operations of over 60 early childhood programs to ensure compliance with New York State policy and law. Ms. Moore is the lead state investigator on child abuse and child neglect cases for children in early childhood education programs in Westchester county where her motto is to process every case with the highest level of integrity.
Ms. Moore is a frequent speaker at faith-based and social work functions and serves on the National Council of Negro Women Board as 3rd Youth Vice President in the Bronx. Ms. Moore has served as Youth Pastor and ordained Minister in the Bronx for over 4 years where she spearheaded education and spiritual initiatives and activities for community youth and families. Additionally, Ms. Moore dedicated her time to several volunteer projects including providing disaster relief for Hurricane Katrina victims. Ms. Moore love for young people extends beyond the borders of the U.S, she has devoted her time to serving orphan children and destitute families in South Africa, South East Asia and South America between 2006-2011.
Ms. Moore is a dedicated to improving the lives of the most vulnerable children in New York City and reforming communities of color and the education system in New York City.
