Social Work Contractor (hiring immediately)

Pay: $40 per hour
Commute: Must be able to commute to North Bronx, NY, and Brooklyn, NY, and up to 3 schools in a week
Start date: Hiring as soon as possible
Responsibilities:
Provide counseling to assigned youth through evidence-based interventions and culturally sensitive approaches
Develop treatment plans supporting students' social, emotional, and behavioral goals
Conduct psychosocial assessments, evaluating mental, social, and functional capacity
Offer crisis intervention and mentoring for students; provide guidance to school personnel
Communicate and collaborate with school officials, parents, and guardians
Assist with parent and teacher workshops; participate in evaluation and placement of special needs students
Maintain ongoing relationships with families, facilitating social adjustment and utilizing community resources
Consult with administration and staff on social adjustment factors; counsel groups of students/parents
Develop and maintain written reports, records, and act as a case manager for designated students
Coordinate, develop, monitor, and evaluate Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
Observe pupils in classrooms/playgrounds;
Supervise MSW and/or BSW Social Work Interns
Maintain a caseload minimum for individual and group counseling per academic year
Attend agency community events and conduct home visits for high-risk clients
Engage in research and evaluation efforts, tracking clients' clinical and academic outcomes
Hybrid role during summer when DOE schools are closed; assume other related duties as assigned
Other social work related tasks/projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirement:
Contractor must have Master's degree in Social Work (MSW)
4+ years of social work and case management experience in the Department of Education (DOE) public school required/preferred
3+ years of supervision/mentorship experience in the human service/social service field required/preferred
4+ years of 1:1 and group sessions and professional development workshop experience required
3+ years of public school experience required/preferred - and working with students from Elementary to High School Grade Level
LMSW preferred
SIFI certification preferred
Prior completion of Department of Education (DOE) background clearance preferred
Travel Requirement:
Ability to travel to North Bronx and Brooklyn, from 2 to 3 schools per week
