As a Volunteer Board Member, you will play a crucial role in the strategic direction and growth of our non-profit organization. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Strategic Planning: Collaborate with fellow board members to develop and implement the organization's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with our mission and vision.
Governance : Participate in board meetings, provide input on key decisions, and adhere to ethical and legal standards governing non-profit organizations.
Fundraising: Actively engage in fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation, grant writing, and event participation, to support the financial sustainability of the organization.
Finance Oversight: Provide financial expertise and oversight by:
Reviewing and approving the annual budget.
Monitoring the organization's financial performance, financial reports, and ensuring sound fiscal management.
Providing expertise and support with Form-990.
Collaborating with the finance committee to develop financial strategies and policies.
Advocacy: Advocate for the organization's mission and programs in your local community and beyond.
Annual Mandatory Events: Attend the three annual mandatory events, including:
Annual Charity Event (December): Support and participate in our largest fundraising event of the year.
Annual Gala (December): Attend and actively engage in this prestigious event, which highlights our achievements and fundraising efforts.
Annual Retreat (August): Join fellow board members for a retreat focused on strategic planning, team building, and reflection.
Committee Involvement: Serve on board committees or task forces as needed, bringing your expertise to specific areas such as finance, marketing, or program development.
Qualifications: To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
A deep commitment to our organization's mission and values.
2 years of professional or volunteer board member experience in nonprofit management, governance, or a related field.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
Access to reliable internet and communication tools for virtual meetings.
