
HR Associate (Part-Time, Contract)

Position Overview
The HR Associate will play a critical role in recruitment, payroll processing, HR training, and partner relations. This hybrid role is primarily virtual, with occasional in-person meetings or events as needed. The ideal candidate is highly organized, systems-driven, and able to document and track HR processes accurately while leading with confidence.
This is a growth-focused role with the potential to transition into an HR Manager or HR Director position as the organization expands.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full recruitment cycle: posting positions, sourcing candidates, screening, scheduling, and documenting applicant information.
Conduct candidate and partner interviews virtually and in-person (when needed).
Maintain and update HR databases, tracking systems, and applicant pipelines with accuracy.
Support payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
Develop and deliver HR-related training and onboarding for staff and interns.
Provide mentorship and guidance to interns and team members, fostering a positive team culture.
Partner with leadership to establish stronger HR structure and systems that ensure accountability and efficiency.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, or a related area.
Strong organizational and documentation skills with proven ability to manage systems and tracking tools.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Reliable internet connection for virtual work and ability to participate in occasional in-person meetings.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and follow through consistently.
Experience leading training or team meetings (preferred).
Nonprofit HR experience (a plus but not required).
Education Requirement
Minimum:
Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field OR equivalent experience (2+ years of HR/recruitment work).
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or Organizational Development.
HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, or HR Generalist Certificate) is a plus but not required.
