Black girls face many stereotypes that may affect their educational outcomes or opportunities. However, in a survey conducted by the Girl Scout Institute, "53 percent of African American girls surveyed expressed a desire to be leaders as compared to 50 percent of Hispanic girls and 34 percent of Caucasian girls." While Black girls experience barriers perpetuated by gender and racial biases, this program gives them the courage to reach their dreams.
