YOUTHPRENEUR SUMMIT EVENT - SUPPORT


I’RAISE is doing a one-day immersive experience Youthpreneur Summit Event where youth meet like-minded youngsters and engage in an incubator-style experience. This event will be in Atlanta, Georgia and we are looking for 12 one-day event support volunteers.

Volunteer hours: 9 am to 5 pm ET [check-in at 9 am ET]

Location: College of Arts & Science Event Center Building, 25 Park Place NE, 26th Floor, Atlanta, Georgia 30303


VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

VOLUNTEER DUTIES

NEEDED

Wellness Tech Volunteers

Assessing the physical, physiological and emotional needs of youth.

Knowledge of handling crisis along with supervisor

Providing technical assistance and guidance to youth

Assessing needs of youth on continual basis and communicating those needs to supervisors 

Knowledge of the event program, rundown, space

Knowledge of first aid/CPR procedures

Assessing for illnesses, allergies etc,

Knowledge of building evacuation routes and plans

Knowledge of first aid/CPR locations

Working with supervisors to handle any crisis situations. Qualification: Must have experience working with youth, able to provide crisis intervention, support kids emotional well-being, assess needs, provide a safe and emotionally supportive environment for youth. First Aid/CPR preferred.

Two

Greeter Volunteers

Setting up space prior to event and after event

Understanding and knowledge of event logistics and all other roles

Greeting all participants upon arrival and directing them to their sections

Guiding youth to their breakout sessions and panelists 

Working with host to communicate any pertinent information that may cause an adjustment to the event schedule 

Ensuring smooth and orderly transitions between sessions for youth and panelists 

Providing directions to facilities and other pertinent areas as needed to participants

Assessing the needs of participants and providing technical assistance as appropriate and as needed

Informing guests of the event day and run down and to scan QR codes 

Qualification:

Must have experience working in events, friendly, calm and personable demeanor, must be able to deal with conflicts and to work with people of differing backgrounds and personalities. Commitment to excellent customer service.

Two

Registration Volunteers

Setting up the check in/registration station

Having guest list prior and and setting up virtual check in for guests

An alternative list for guests who are not on the list- must be electronic 

Greeting guests as they arrive and leave 

Directing guests to facilities and other pertinent places as needed

Directing guests to the greeters/other volunteers as needed

Communicating with other team members continually including greeters, food service, marketing, wellness techs, AV/tech etc. 

Effectively checking guests in and out 

Assisting participants in signing up for I’RAISE programs 

Informing guests of the event day and run down and to scan QR codes 

Working with supervisors to handle any crisis situations.

Qualification:

Must have experience working with events, understanding of eventbrite and how to use it, some computer skills are required. Understanding of QR codes and virtual check in. Friendly, calm and assertive with participants. Ability to operate in high demand situations and environments, ability to handle pressure, flexibility and adaptability to any situation.

AV Tech Volunteers

Assessing tech needs prior to event and communicating with supervisors

Communicating with panelists for copies of their presentations

Ensuring all links, videos are organized and handy for day of event

Setting up all AV/tech equipment including microphones

Troubleshooting any AV/technical issues

Screen Sharing videos/links/conference packages 

Provide support to the presenters/panelists 

Qualification:

Must have experience working in AV, tech, prior experience working in events.

Two

Food Service Volunteers

Setting up food station in organized, safe and sanitary manner

Properly labeling of all foods

Labeling any foods with nuts/allergies

Setting aside special food accommodations for guests and ensuring they receive this.

Serving food in safe and sanitary manner

Clean up after serving food.

Assessing any allergies reported and working with the supervisor to find alternative food options. 

Qualifications:

Must have experience working with food, knowledge of safe food handling, organized, friendly, prior experience volunteering or working in food service.

Marketing Volunteers

Working with the marketing team prior to the event to review all event marketing needs including but not limited to working with the photographer/videographer on what to capture during the event, capturing footage and posting on social media in live time, 

Engaging youth participants and presenters to follow the IRAISE page and social media pages

Engaging youth participants to hash tag event and post photos

Capturing content that conveys the vision of the Think Tank

Send all footage to the marketing team.

Send video recaps to news outlets as needed.

Qualification:

Must have marketing experience and background. Knowledge of social media and content creation.
