JOHANN DEJESUS

Johann was born and raised in the South Bronx, one of the poorest congressional districts in the country. A product of the New York City public school system and public housing, she overcame significant challenges early in life. Despite becoming a teen mom, Johann defied all odds stacked against her.

Johann is the founder of JDC Coaching and Training Services, a highly regarded nonprofit executive and consultant with a proven track record of program success spanning over two decades. Specializing in leadership development, coaching, mentoring, and program support, Johann has been instrumental in enhancing the capacities of numerous nonprofit organizations.

Known for her ability to transform struggling programs into efficient and accountable entities, Johann is recognized as a skilled program "fixer." Her approach involves leveraging mission, vision, and values to address systemic issues, organizational structure, and staffing challenges.

Johann's coaching and training methodology is grounded in practicality and real-world experience, ensuring her guidance is both insightful and directly applicable. She holds multiple life coach certifications, including Professional Life, Goal Success, Life Purpose, and Happiness, enabling her to provide tailored coaching expertise.

Prior to founding JDC Coaching and Training Services, Johann held several senior leadership positions. From 2018 to 2023, she served as the Executive Director of the La Peninsula Community Organization (La Pen), where she successfully revitalized programs and enhanced organizational effectiveness. Before that, she was the Senior Vice President of Programs and Operations at the South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation (SoBro) from 2012 to 2018, and the Chief Program Officer at the Grand Street Settlement (GSS) from 2008 to 2012.

Currently, Johann serves as a senior adjunct faculty member at Mercy University, where she teaches management courses including Managing Your Money, Strategic Management, and Human Resources.

In 2021, Johann was recognized by Schneps Media as one of New York City's most influential and impactful individuals, underscoring her significant contributions to the nonprofit and coaching sectors.
